Kern County Child Support - Payments

Payments

Regular monthly child support payments help ensure children’s needs are met. Making your child support payment regularly every month communicates that you want to create a better life for your child/ren.

Child support payments are due on the first of every month and should be made no later than the 20th of each month to allow for mailing and processing time. If your payment is received late, your past due balance is subject to interest charges. Payments (cash or check) made in our offices will be sent to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU), please allow for mailing and processing time.

There are a variety of ways to receive child support payments. Child support payments can be received via direct deposit, or payments can be received on an Electronic Pay Card (EPC), which can be used as a debit card wherever Mastercard is accepted.

To make an online payment or to enroll to receive payments through Direct Deposit or an Electronic Pay Card, please visit the State Disbursement Unit website.

For a Payment History, use Customer Connect – California’s self-service platform, giving you 24-7 access to information you need about your case.

Are you experiencing difficulties and/or hardships that may prevent you from being able to successfully payoff your debt to the state? Good news, you may be eligible for an income-based program called Debt Reduction Program.
